Meet Our Physicians
Rafael G. Magana, M.D.
Dr. Rafael G. Magana received his medical degree from the Autonomous University of Mexico in Mexico City. He conducted his postgraduate training at Lopez Mateos General Hospital in Mexico City and Sound Shore Medical Center of Westchester in New Rochelle. Dr. Magana then went on to a Burn Fellowship at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York completing a two year fellowship in reconstruction and intensive care. He also completed Fellowships in Craniofacial Surgery at the Children’s Hospital and Inter-mountain Hospital System in Salt Lake City and Oncologic/ Aesthetic Breast Surgery at the Institute for Aesthetic Surgery and Medicine in Mount Kisco, New York. Additionally, Dr. Magana was a Plastic Surgery resident at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta.
Dr. Magana was the recipient of the Laparoscopic Resident Achievement Award from the Society of Laparo-Endoscopic Surgeons and the Teaching Resident of the Year Award from New York Medical College. A member of the American College of Surgeons and American Medical Association, he has co-authored book chapters and presented to his peers on his areas of expertise.
Dominick I. Golio, M.D.
Dr. Dominick I. Golio received his Bachelor of Science degree, Magna Cum Laude, from Manhattan College and his medical degree from St. George’s University. He completed his primary surgical training at New York Medical College. He then completed additional fellowship training in Plastic Surgery at the University of Texas and Craniofacial Surgery at Primary Children’s Medical Center, Craniofacial Foundation of Utah Program in Salt Lake City.
Dr. Dominick Golio was appointed adjunct professor of surgery for St. George’s University in April 2005 and Clinical Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery and Ophthalmology at the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center from 2006-2010. During his tenure, he was interim chief of Plastic Surgery in 2008 and he was the Director of Craniofacial and Pediatric Plastic Surgery. He has authored three text book chapters, several peer reviewed manuscripts and has lectured nationally and internationally his specialty.
Dr. Dominick Golio’s research interests include management of keloids, advancements in management of Pediatric and Adult Craniomaxillofacial Trauma, and Head and Neck Reconstrcuctive Surgical Oncology. Dr. Dominick Golio is presently licensed to practice medicine in New York and New Jersey.
